I feel a strange, unexplainable connect with the city. Be it heritage, history, streets, cuisines, or the people; Kolkata kills it with the vibes. The city is home for me, a place where I know a maximum of 5 people, one house, and a giant dog. But it does have something strange about the serenity that it makes me the happiest whenever someone mentions Cal.
As I walked through the streets, I was captivated by the ancient doors and fences (as most of the houses were of the traditional era). This picture blog below is aimed at showing you how beautiful Kolkata is - from the top! Scroll down for more.

For the rest of my stay in Kolkata, I had my mental must dos jotted in my mind: St. Paul's Cathedral, Victoria Memorial, Howrah & Hughly Bridges, Writer's Building, National Zoo, College Street, Newmarket, and without a doubt sunset by the Princep Ghats.
Some of these walks were so memorable (as my tau never takes time out for himself but he took me to photograph the streets, of which all of us were shocked to death!), especially when I was also, all by myself and without an agenda.
However, I was finally walking in the city to explore it like a traveler, but thankfully again without a plan or an agenda. This visit was undoubtedly worthwhile for its traditional feels, timeless treasures of the Bengali culture along with the new bond that I've made with my family.

So, this was last year! And as I made my way to Delhi, I promise to come back again. These Kolkata Diaries are far from complete. But for now, these are the stunning takeaways from the streets of this vibrant city. I will be uploading a few more Kolkata blogs very soon. So stay tuned!
UNTIL NEXT TIME. Xoxo.
